Marshall, the fire patrol (Open day fire and rescue 2016)

May 21, 2016

It was unfortunate that we miss the Annual Open day of Fire and Rescueat our local fire station last May 20 this year. To be frank, I forgot to keep track of it. Silly mommy… hehe..

But anyway, we had the chance to participate in last year’s open day. The event started with giving away souvenirs such as the fire patrol hat and red balloons indicating the Emergency Number which is 000.IMG_0178There was also a talk and demonstration from the firemen about fire safety at home.

Here’s Marshall’s photo seriously watching. hehe..IMG_0182 (1)

Children were allowed to get inside the fire truck which they use for fire and other emergencies.UXHN6555

The firefighters were very friendly and accommodating.IMG_0208

They also gave a chance to use and inspect some of the firefighter’s equipment.IMG_0204

Children made themselves busy by chalk drawing.IMG_0210 IMG_0213IMG_0216It was indeed a pleasant and informative day. 😉

Sydney Easter Show 2017

April 15, 2017

The sun was up at the Sydney Royale Easter Show 2017. We bought our tickets online at an earlier date and got it for $37 each instead of $41. Marshall got a free entry because children 3 years and under are free. Hurray!

The show link ticket already includes back and forth public transport so we just boarded the train going to Sydney Olympic Park.

The event started 9 am but we already arrived nearly 11 in the morning. I was not aware that the place was that huge and there were a lot of stuff to check out so I felt that we were very late.

It is advisable to bring along some sunscreen, hats, water bottle, and extra shirt, especially for the kids.

There were a lot of people so we made sure to always keep an eye on Marshall.

Of course, Marshall cannot take his eyes off of all those fun rides.

..and games too!P4140266

Well, actually it was the adults who spent almost the entire coupons on the games, particularly the one below. 6 of us shared 75 coupons for $70. Coupons can be used for both rides and games.

Our friend, Malou, had her lucky day for bringing home two! Waah!

It was an agricultural show and Marshall was very eager to check out the farm animals.

He even had a chance to touch a lamb.P4140273

There were a lot of food stalls but very few seats available so we just bought take away food, looked for a sheltered corner, and help ourselves on the floor. We also brought with us some canned drinks but maybe next time we will just bring packed lunch as well. hehe.

After few minutes, we roam around the arts and crafts area. Thankfully, it was indoor.

Marshall can’t resist the giant slide eventhough it was terribly hot. I’m so proud of him for giving it a try! 😉

They all tried the slide while I took a video of them. (Takot din kasi ako.. hehe)

About 5 in the afternoon, we headed to the show bags area. Again, I was surprised to see quite a number of people falling in line to come inside.

The items are surprisingly on a much bigger discounted price.

Although there were a lot of choices for the entire family, we only bought one show bag for Marshall. All these costs $25.

After the live entertainment and gorgeous fireworks in the evening, we headed back home. We definitely had a great time!

It was our first time to experience this event and we did not know that it was that enormous and amazing. Looking forward to next year’s Sydney Royale Easter Show. 🙂

Meanwhile, check out our short Easter Show video. 🙂

Cruise with me baby..

Row, row, row your boat (singing..) is one of Marshall’s favorite nursery song.

This time, it isn’t just a boat. But a cruise ship. Hurray!

P&O Cruises (Peninsular and Oriental) is the oldest cruise line in the world, having operated the world’s first commercial passenger ships in the early 19th century.- Wikipedia

P&O Australia is the leading cruise line for Australia and New Zealand cruisers.

Marshall asked me to take a photo of him with these artworks. Well, I guess he loves art 🙂14446467_1319860504691117_360017692_o14408260_1319859658024535_923096585_o

Yeah, just a tour. We didn’t go for a cruise holiday by the way, but maybe next time. Because why not? :))

Short trip to NZ

Finally, this long overdue plan already came to reality. It may seem short but we still had a pleasant few days of strolling around New Zealand. Though the visa application was “a little bit” complicated. Not bad actually because it was approved in 3 days time. But it would have been easier if we could have given a “proper” passport sized photo. If you are planning to  visit NZ, I highly suggest that you check here for the acceptable photos, and be sure to read their website for the necessary documents.

At that time, Ninong Rene was all set and he already got a seat for Marshall. 🙂

Ready to go! (photo grabbed from Ninong Rene)

Aug 3, 2016.

On our way to Auckland Airport. Our flight was half an hour delayed, yet we still looked very excited (especially the little man) 🙂13987328_1284506671559834_1540908416_o

We reached Ninong Rene’s house in Auckland at around 11pm.

Day 1.

Aug 4, 2016

Of course, we woke up late. (napasarap ng tulog hehe)

We didn’t plan for any itinerary. We just depended on Ninong Rene’s suggestions. haha!

Roadtrip it is!

The weather was not that friendly but thanks to Ninong for cheering us up with this Mega Ice Cream.

2016-08-11Marshall was really enjoying his ice cream treat! 😉P8040006

We only spent few minutes in Muriwai Beach since we saw big waves and there was heavy rain.

So we ended up going back early to Ninong Rene’s place.

Later that evening, we had a sumptuous dinner at Momo Tea – Howick.13938092_10206942318983047_3420246660477798112_o

Blue Mountains 2017

July 3, 2016

Blue Mountains, NSW.

It was an early morning stroll.13616262_1255813494429152_1869723096_oWe first took a bus from our place going to the city (Central Station).

From there we took the train going to Katoomba Station.13570092_1255813531095815_621673008_o(Buti walang sumpong si Marshall kasi maaga nagising, hehe)13570220_1255813521095816_555295253_o13621419_1255813551095813_269297280_oLuckily, it only took about 2 hours for us to reach there.13621339_1255813544429147_1808859250_oFrom Katoomba Station, we rode a bus about 15-20mins away from our destination. Hurray!13595681_1255813431095825_650927730_nwith Tito Wiljay, Tita Malou, and Tita Blanche

13599666_1255813424429159_1641445759_n 13579913_1255813567762478_954773638_oIt’s called Blue mountains because basically, it looks blue. 🙂

They are clad in vast forests of eucalypts (commonly called gum trees), which in the hot sun discharge a fine mist of eucalyptus oil from their leaves. The mist refracts light, which makes the haze look blue at a distance.–
13595712_1255813427762492_934596901_n13624662_1255813464429155_998279894_nWe walked and took photos around the area for about 20 minutes. There’s no entrance fee, by the way.
13588739_1255813564429145_997281524_oThe 3 big stones you can see in the photo are called “The Three Sisters”. Legend says that these were actually 3 ladies who fell in love with 3 men but the tribal law forbids them to marry. A spell cast upon them and turn them into rocks. See story here.

After some time, we went to Scenic World which is just a few minutes away from the Blue Mountains.13618216_1255813437762491_925806375_n13608007_1255813444429157_962389178_nThis time, we paid for ticket that includes unlimited rides to Scenic Railway, Cableway, Skyway, and Walkway. 39aud for each adult and $21aud for children aged 4-13. Yey! Marshall is still free since he’s just 2 1/2 years old. Check out price here.

Here’s a short clip of our cableway and railway experience.

After eating late lunch and early dinner, we rode the train again going back home.13570326_1255813581095810_1712277345_oIt was a whole day of fun for all of us 🙂

Finally, after 6 months…

July 02, 2016

Last Saturday, we were able to meet one of our friends from Singapore, Yuri. We walked around Sydney’s Opera House and Botanical Gardens. Here are some of our pics:

Marshall and I on the bus on our way to Central

We quickly grabbed a bite at The East Chinese Restaurant. Their golden garlic pork was awesome.

After lunch, we roamed around the area and took photos of Sydney’s famous spots.

We also walked around the Sydney Botanical Garden.13621847_1255813847762450_1424864254_o

After 6 months, we finally had the chance to see some of Sydney’s magnificent attractions. The next day, we went to the Blue Mountains for some more winter feels. 😉

first swimming

May 15, 2014

Fisher’s Farm

Papa Mat arranged this event. Ama and I frequently come home to Philippines just for few days only and he just wants us to have a simple get together.

The place is located nearby our house in Dasmariñas. I actually celebrated my 18th birthday on this resort. I cannot remember the resort’s rate but you can check out for more info here.

Anyway, there you are, all geared up for your first swim! 🙂

You were quite scared at first..

But dad was there to hold and assist you.

With a little help from us, you got used to the water..

and finally you enjoyed it.

It’s not only you who had fun, but Nanay as well..

 and of course, Papa!

Tita Tetet was unable to come. Mama stayed on the cottage to look after our things. And where’s Tatay? Hmmm.. Maybe he’s eating! 🙂

And the rest of us enjoyed!

If you’re tired of swimming check out “Skates HQ” to learn more about inline and hockey skates.
