10 years.

Posted on January 26, 2026January 26, 2026 by Mommy Jen

2016 when we arrived in Australia.

I can still remember that feeling, the deep sense of relief that we were finally together as a family. If you’ve followed our journey for a while, you would know that before this, we lived through a long-distance season with our son, Marshall, while we were in Singapore. Being reunited under one roof felt like the beginning of something wonderful.

When we moved to Australia ten years ago, we already knew this journey was more than just a relocation. It was a testimony of God’s faithfulness. I remember I shared a story here where we realised that all along, we were already destined to be in Australia – Click here -> https://tobringtogether.com/why-are-we-really-here-in-australia/

We arrived carrying more than just suitcases. We brought hope, fear, excitement, and countless dreams… some clear, others still taking shape. We didn’t know then how deeply this country would shape us, or how much we would grow along the way.

The early years were not easy. Everything felt unfamiliar, the accents, the systems, the unspoken rules of daily life. There were moments of loneliness and doubts, moments when we questioned whether we had made the right decision. But alongside the challenges were small wins. Slowly, Australia began to feel less like a place we were just visiting and more like a place we belong. A temporary chapter quietly turned into a permanent story. Australia became the backdrop for some of our biggest milestones. What once felt foreign gradually became… home.

Somewhere along this ten-year journey, life became fuller. Careers took new directions, priorities shifted, and family became the centre of everything. Our family grew and blossomed in the most beautiful way.  What once felt complete somehow became even more whole.

Now, ten years later, I look back with a heart full of gratitude. Gratitude for the struggles that strengthened us, for the people who supported us, and for the opportunities that allowed us to grow into who we are today. Australia witnessed our struggles and our growth. It didn’t just give us a place to live. It gave us lessons, memories, and a life we are proud of.

This story is still unfolding.
But one thing is certain, every chapter has been worth it.

Happy Australia Day! Cheers to 10 years and more! 🥂🇦🇺
