This coming Thursday, April 13, Marshall will have his first Easter hat parade at school. Parents are encouraged to work with the kids to create their own easter bonnet or hat. Hurray to DIY! …and to our old surprise eggs! Since we also have Angry Birds eggs, we decided that we should go for an Angry Birds Theme.
These are the materials:
*old surprise eggs
*glue gun (with glue stick, of course)– parental guidance is a must 😉
*felt cloth (black, white, green — to go with our theme)
*pair of scissors — again, parental guidance is a must 😉
In total, we only spent $2 for the felt hat since we already have our supplies from our not-so-quiet books. And we made this easter hat in just 15 minutes. It’s that simple! 😉
I bet you can also do your own easter hat using old stuff!
Here’s a short video of our DIY Angry Birds Easter Hat. Happy Easter everyone! :))
This was Marshall’s 1st birthday celebration last November 08, 2014. He’s actually 3 years and 5 months now. Haha! I know, I know! This is a very long overdue post and finally, I was able to squeeze in some time to check our almost full hard drive and upload these photos here. As a matter of fact, I still have a bunch of photos that are still waiting to be synced, so please bear with the busy mom.
It was more than 2 years ago, hence, it seems as though it was just a couple of weeks back. Oh.. time really flies… I can still remember the open letter I wrote to him.
Back in 2014, Dada and I were both working in Singapore while Marshall was in the Philippines. These were those moments which we were still separated by distance and it was truly heartbreaking. His first birthday, unfortunately, fell on a weekday (Friday) and sadly I wasn’t granted a leave so we were left with no other choice but to celebrate it on a Saturday instead. Dada and I went back to Philippines and stayed there for 36 hours then flew back to Singapore thereafter. Imagine that!
Because of this time constraint, we planned for a hassle free celebration and glad that we found a great deal from Max’s. We’ve been eyeing their package initially when Marshall had his Baptismal but we changed our plans that time. So for his 1st year, we decided to go ahead with their package.
Max’s have various theme package but of course, we chose the racer package and requested for black, red, and white balloons. We opted for Kids B for 20 kids.
They already provided the birthday tarpaulin.
But still, we also brought ours. The Staff helped us placed it in a corner so we can use it as a photo booth area.
I guess they enjoyed the game more than the kids! hehe!
Honestly, I wasn’t able to eat well cause I was busy with Marshall and was tied up with chikahan. But the guests seemed to be pleased with the meal, so thumbs up!
After the meal, Chickie boy came!
I guess Marshall was surprised with the mascot!
After some time, we then sang a happy birthday song for marshall while blowing his cake.
We let him smash the cake just a bit kasi sayang! Actually, he only took the car toy! hehe! And we brought home the cake.
Anyway, we brought our own cupcakes for everyone to eat. We ordered from one of our friend who had some baking business. Mas mura compared to other cupcakes store and yet it’s tasteful. The Staff allowed us to set up a mini candy bar. We were lucky that they didn’t ask for additional payment. Sweets were brought by my other sister in law, Ate Leah. We placed car accessories labels.
Overall, we had fun during that big day! Big thanks to Max’s staff and crew for all the help during the event. And of course, this wouldn’t be possible without our families and friends who celebrated with us.
One of the days that most of us look forward to is New Year. There is something in this holiday season that people see with anticipation. It may be the food feast, or the amazing fireworks, or the repetitive promises, or probably just a simple new beginning for some.
I remember 2014 New Year was the most heartbreaking New Year for me and dada. Marshall was just almost 2 months at that time, but we had to leave back to Singapore on a New Year’s day.
Why did we choose New Year’s day? First, it’s because that was the cheapest flight. Secondly, we don’t have enough (annual) leave anymore. Imagine me literally crying in the car, airport, and plane, on a New Year’s day! And that was one of the reasons why we really planned to transfer in Australia. But at least we learned a lot from that long distance relationship and we value this family more than anything else.
Time really flies and we didn’t even notice that we were already staying here in Sydney for a year. And last year’s New Year was one of the blessed New Year we had. Almost a week after the new year’s day, we moved here in Sydney. And today is our 1st year anniversary! Weeh! :))
We definitely miss our family back home in the Phillippines and our dear friends in Singapore. Nevertheless, we are truly favored to have this opportunity to live here.
For nothing will be impossible with God. ~ Luke 1:37
Here’s our 2016 recap. Cheers to more fruitful 2017 🙂 #letsclaimthis
Back when we started this site last 2014, we just wanted to have an open site for Marshall’s reference of our stories as family before we get older and forget all the important moments.
It was end of last year when it crossed my mind the concept of making videos with regards to Marshall’s activities. And eventually I and Rod, came up to an idea of putting up a Youtube channel.
Well, it’s Marshall’s Youtube channel actually.
We are very pleased to the Lord for giving us this kind of blessing and we are habitually praying for His continuos guidance.
We made this not to gain likes, (or dislikes) but to share our routine and adventure besides the hustle and bustle of our daily lives.
This aims primarily to inspire parents as well as kids especially in this very techie world.

Papa Mat arranged this event. Ama and I frequently come home to Philippines just for few days only and he just wants us to have a simple get together.
The place is located nearby our house in Dasmariñas. I actually celebrated my 18th birthday on this resort. I cannot remember the resort’s rate but you can check out for more info here.
Anyway, there you are, all geared up for your first swim! 🙂
You were quite scared at first..
But dad was there to hold and assist you.
With a little help from us, you got used to the water..
and finally you enjoyed it.
It’s not only you who had fun, but Nanay as well..
and of course, Papa!
Tita Tetet was unable to come. Mama stayed on the cottage to look after our things. And where’s Tatay? Hmmm.. Maybe he’s eating! 🙂
And the rest of us enjoyed!

The morning after my delivery around 8am, the nurse have brought you in the room.
It’s amazing that when I greeted you, you answered back with a very sweet smile.

You already rolled over by yourself on your 3rd month. Good job anak!

Ama was so excited to hold and kiss you for the first time.
Unfortunately, he wasn’t around when I deliver you. He actually came home to Philippines on November 01, 2013. He stayed for 3 days for we were expecting you would already come out on those days. But you were so attached to me that you did not come out yet. He then went back to Singapore and after 3 days, I was already in delivery room. haha!
Ama was so excited to carry you so he booked a ticket again to come back home. Have you noticed how frequent he come home for us?
Well, we love you so much ama! 🙂

It was the eve of New Year’s Day. We had a simple gathering. It was tough for your dad and me to leave you in the Philippines. We had to go back to Singapore for work reasons. On the way to airport, I already started crying. It wasn’t easy for me to let go as I was used to taking care of you, waking up in the middle of the night to breastfed, checking your diapers, or just simply stare at your angelic face. But we need to be strong enough baby. We are working now to settle for a good future. And we know that you will be in the hands of very loving people. Nanay, Tatay, Mama, Papa, Tita Belbel, Tita Tetet, Tito Itoy, will always be there to look after you. We always love you anak.

Manila to Singapore
We were very excited because it was our first flight together as family, aside from our first flight during my pregnancy.
You were very well-behaved that you almost slept the whole flight.
Mama and Tita Belbel were with us. It was Mama’s first flight as well. 🙂
Thank God, we arrived safely.
